
Bizerte Tunisia
The most northern nation in Africa is Tunisia, formally known as the Republic of Tunisia. Its borders with Algeria to the west and southwest, Libya to the southeast, and the Mediterranean Sea to the north and east form part of the Maghreb area of North Africa. Along with the Great Mosque of Kairouan, it has Carthaginian archeological sites that date to the ninth century. It has a population of 12.1 million and is known for its historic buildings, souks, and azure coastlines. It has a total area of 163,610 km2.
