The 2024 FCV crop size is estimated to be 1,914 million kilos, which is almost the same as the previous year. The export quota has been set at 115 million kilos for 2024. Yunnan and Guizhou regions experienced excessive rainfall in June, leading to flooding in low-lying areas and mudslides. Rainfall in June was the highest in the last five years, affecting the production of flue-cured tobacco. Farm management is now focusing on improving drainage and reducing water retention. Topping began in late June, and preparations for curing and reaping are underway.

The 2024 Burley crop size is expected to be around 10 million kilos.
