The 2024 Traditional FCV crop size is projected to reach 120 million kilos, marking a 40% increase from the previous year. The average green price has risen to USD 3.10, up from USD 2.60 in 2023. Despite the substantial increase in crop size, higher local demand, increased interest from Russia, and farmer protests for better pricing have driven up prices.

The Tobacco Board has approved a Mysore crop size of 100 million kilos for 2024, with transplanting completed on 73,000 hectares.

The 2023 NLS crop size is projected to be approximately 65 million kilos, reflecting a 20% increase from the previous year. The average green price has increased to USD 3.70, up from USD 3.00 in 2023.

The Vinukonda Burley crop size has also seen a significant increase in 2024, estimated at 73 million kilos, a 50% rise from the previous year. The average green price has risen to USD 2.00, up from USD 1.68 in 2023.

The HDBRG Burley crop size is estimated at 42 million kilos for 2024, representing a 25% increase from the previous year. The average green tobacco price is USD 1.80. Most of the Indian Burley stocks have already been purchased and committed to end users.
