The Indian Tobacco Board (ITB) has authorized a crop size of 100 million Kgs for the 2022-23 Crop season vs 97 million Kgs for the 2021 crop. Plantations for the current crop year concluded with 60,782 Ha which is 15% lower than the previous year. 2022 Mysore Crop size is estimated to be around 59 million Kgs.

The auctions concluded for the season and the final volume for Traditional marketed and sold was 78.8 million Kgs at an average price of $ 2.17. Quality was average to good, lemon to orange in color. The ITB has authorized 92.69 million kgs of crop size for the upcoming season.

The NLS 2022 crop size is calculated at 42.2 million Kgs. Auctions are currently finished and the 42.2 million was at an average price of 2.41$. In general, the crop quality was above average and orange to deep orange in color. The ITB has authorized a crop size of 49.31 Million kgs for the upcoming crop.

The Vinikonda Burley crop size is calculated at 31 million Kgs in 2022. The marketing of the 2022 crop is complete. To date, an area of around 2,100 ha has been planted. The estimated crop for 2023 is 40 to 42 million Kgs.

The 2022 HDBRG Burley crop harvesting and curing have been completed. The crop size is calculated at 27.5 million Kgs which is 15% higher than the previous year. Overall crop quality was average and slightly thinner in body than the previous crop. The average green price is 1.22 USD.
